AquaBlok expands Quality Control Support with addition of Lab QA/QC Co-op from University of Toledo
AquaBlok continues to support the education and development of future professionals in environmental engineering through participation in University of Toledo’s engineering intern program. Hayley Hoot is a senior in environmental engineering at the University of Toledo and is currently working as a Lab QA/QC Co-op. While at AquaBlok, she will be responsible for performing lab-based quality control and quality assurance testing and incorporating ASTM and AASHTO geotechnical standards. The position will also involve research and investigation into remediation of contaminants of concern such as PFAS, Dioxin, PCBs.
Hayley, previously interned with Jeep, where she reviewed wastewater liquid processing to determine where improvements might be made to prevent spillover into storm water systems. She also worked for the Soil and Water Conservation District on permitting and inspected sites to insure they were in compliance with EPA regulations. While working here at AquaBlok, Hayley will also be collaborating with a group of students at the University of Toledo working on biofiltration of stormwater from parking lots and streetscape sewers to reduce pollutants in high flow areas.
